When Click Frenzy's first standalone online travel sale, Travel Frenzy kicks off, it promises to offer up to 70 per cent on travel and travel-related products. But will it cope with demand?

That's the prediction of Click Frenzy managing director Grant Arnott, who also promises savings on single purchases during this special event could reach into the thousands of dollars for savvy bargain hunters. "Australians love a bargain and they love to travel," says Arnott. "We're expecting huge interest and huge savings."

But will shoppers find bargains that aren't already out there in the market? The proof of the pudding is likely to be in the eating, as Arnott isn't giving away any specifics of what's on offer. Buyers will have to wait till the sale begins, 7pm AEST, Tuesday October 18.

Travel Frenzy is a spin off of Click Frenzy, a series of online sales events timed to coincide with the busiest shopping periods in the year. The sales run for 24 hours straight and are a one-stop-shop for bargain basement offers from a participating online retailers.

After noticing high interest in the travel section of Click Frenzy in the past few years, " … but limited offerings compared to fashion and home wares deals", the travel-only sale was conceived.

Click Frenzy is based on the US Black Friday physical sale day and Cyber Monday event, held each year after Thanksgiving and which are considered the kick off of the Christmas season. Billions of dollars in sales take place.

But it's not all been smooth sale-ing for Click Frenzy. The first event in November 2012, timed to kick off the Christmas spending period, infamously crashed before the event began. Other retailers such as David Jones set off rival sales and online seller Kogan criticised Click Frenzy for trying to "own the concept of an Online Sales Day", saying it should be open to all retailers.

Last year's event was hit by payment gateway glitches. However, Arnott says "we've learned a lot" and he is confident of a trouble-free event.

Arnott says there will be 600 deals available on the website, – "Experiences, flights, accommodation, package holidays, cruises and travel-related products such as insurance providers, luggage and currency.

"We expect it to be high energy for 24 hours because we are sure there'll be over a million visitors to the website."

While not giving away any details of deals, Arnott says there'll be: "Great offers from the likes of Cruise1st.com.au, Webjet, Tigerair, Hilton and Hotels.com. And while these retailers pretty much always have offers in the go, he says those siphoned through Travel Frenzy will include, " … best-in-market offers that you won't see anywhere else and plenty of exclusives. We're encouraging all suppliers to go harder than they normally would to generate excitement."

Arnott's advice for getting the best out of the event? "Think about what you want to do, get your leave cleared, work out where you want to go and come to the website. We want people to have a plan. There are some retailers that will have every possible package combo you can imagine so you'll find what you want."

And his ultimate tip is: subscribe to the website before the event. "We've come a long way since we broke the internet in 2012 and we're confident it will flow freely. But we are encouraging people to subscribe so they can beat the rush. Plus, they could win a trip to Italy."
